Modern Slavery Statement for Removals Harrow
Removals Harrow is committed to conducting its business ethically, responsibly, and in full support of human rights. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. It applies to all employees, workers, agency staff, contractors, and suppliers engaged with Removals Harrow.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, organisation, or partner that is involved in or complicit with such practices. Our management team is responsible for embedding this principle into our culture, decision-making, and day-to-day activities.
All staff are expected to act with integrity and to uphold this policy at all times. Managers are required to challenge any practice that appears inconsistent with our values and to escalate any concerns through our reporting channels. Any breach of this policy by an employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Our Supply Chains and Supplier Standards
Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, packaging materials, storage facilities, cleaning services, and labour. We expect all suppliers to operate in line with applicable laws and with the same ethical standards we apply to ourselves.
We communicate our zero-tolerance stance to existing and prospective suppliers and require them to confirm that they do not engage in modern slavery or human trafficking. Where appropriate, we incorporate contractual commitments requiring suppliers to comply with relevant legislation, maintain appropriate due diligence processes, and notify us promptly if any issues are identified.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
We undertake risk-based due diligence on suppliers, focusing on sectors, geographies, and activities that may present a higher risk of modern slavery. This includes reviewing publicly available information, supplier declarations, and responses to ethical compliance questionnaires, where used.
We reserve the right to conduct audits or request additional information where we identify potential risks. Audits may involve reviewing employment practices, recruitment arrangements, and evidence of right-to-work checks carried out by suppliers. If a supplier is unwilling to cooperate with our due diligence or audit requirements, or if we identify serious concerns, we will take appropriate action. This may include working with the supplier on a corrective action plan or, where necessary, ending the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Removals Harrow encourages all employees, workers, contractors, and other stakeholders to speak up if they suspect or become aware of any instance of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chains. Concerns can be raised in confidence with a line manager, a senior manager, or via our internal whistleblowing channels.
No individual who raises a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly, sensitively, and, where appropriate, in collaboration with relevant authorities. Where modern slavery is identified or strongly suspected, we will take immediate steps to protect potential victims and cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We provide appropriate information and guidance to relevant employees so they can recognise the signs of modern slavery and understand how to respond to concerns. This may include induction briefings for new starters in higher-risk roles, management training on ethical supply chain oversight, and periodic reminders about our reporting channels.
We are committed to continuous improvement. We will review our risk assessments, supplier engagement practices, and monitoring activities regularly to strengthen our controls and reduce the risk of exploitation linked to our operations.
Annual Review and Governance
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every twelve months. As part of the annual review, senior management considers changes in legislation, evolving best practice, feedback from staff and stakeholders, and any incidents or concerns raised during the year.
Following each review, we update our procedures where necessary to ensure that our approach remains effective, proportionate, and aligned with our values. The latest approved version of this statement is made available to employees and stakeholders so that our commitments and expectations are clearly understood.
This statement has been approved by the management of Removals Harrow and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
